Jane graduated from the University of Sydney in 1998. Having initially worked in hospital, military and overseas aid physiotherapy, Jane moved into private practice in 2001 with a focus on Clinical Pilates and mind-body approaches to treatment. Being trained in several styles of Clinical Pilates, the neuromuscular approach of DMA Clinical Pilates, woven with pain science, functional rehabilitation principles and knowledge of yoga, now forms the core of her physiotherapy practice. She has worked with this style of movement therapy in private practice in Hong Kong, Melbourne, and Perth since 2002.
Jane became a Yoga Alliance registered yoga teacher in 2008 while living in Hong Kong and has completed Yoga for Arthritis ™ and Yoga for Pain Practitioner training. She brought Yoga for Arthritis ™ to Australia in 2014; has instructed arthritis modules at Yoga for Pain Care teacher trainings; and continues to provide an evidence-based yoga program for Arthritis WA. Jane has taught specialised yoga for peri-natal women; teens with joint conditions; and groups with arthritis, osteoporosis and chronic pain and she is always thrilled to witness the positive changes in both physical function and quality of life in her clients.
As a yoga teacher, Jane invites students to explore their abilities and find enjoyment in their practice and the wide-reaching benefits of regular yoga. Her teaching approach concentrates on precision and alignment on a base of functional core stability.
Jane has a strong belief in both supporting and empowering each person with the tools needed to create positive changes in lifestyle, posture and movement.
